Exporting Bookmarks in Google Chrome
Open Google Chrome.
Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Go to Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + O (Windows) or Command + Option + B (Mac).
In the Bookmark Manager, click the three dots (⋮) in the blue bar (top-right).
Select Export bookmarks.
Choose where to save the file (Chrome will export a file called
bookmarks.html).Click Save.
✅ This file can now be imported into another Chrome browser, Edge, Firefox, or most modern browsers.
Exporting Favorites in Microsoft Edge
Open Microsoft Edge.
Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Go to Favorites > Manage favorites.
Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + O (Windows) or Command + Shift + O (Mac).
In the Manage Favorites page, click the three dots (⋮) menu.
Select Export favorites.
Choose where to save the file (Edge will export as
favorites.html).Click Save.
✅ This file can also be imported into Chrome, Firefox, or another Edge browser.
Notes
Exporting and importing your saved passwords is a sensitive process that exposes all of your stored account credentials. Treat the exported file as confidential information.
• Do not share your exported password file with anyone.
• Store it securely only while you need it—for example, on an encrypted USB drive or a trusted cloud location.
• Delete the file immediately after use to prevent unauthorized access.
• Never email passwords or upload them to public or shared drives.
• Always ensure that your device is protected with a strong password or PIN before handling saved credentials.
By following these precautions, you can safely manage your saved passwords without compromising your personal or work accounts.
